This should bring you up to speed on where we are!
Launching Critical Hit!
Launched out of necessity, Critical Hit! was founded with the help of Artificial Intelligence. While searching for new employment, I switched the focus of my job-hunting-assistance AI to off the wall thinking for making money.
It suggested creating a company that marketed my skills. and here we are.

On-Camera at a Distance:
Solidifying on-camera processes for Pluralsight Authors
Solidifying on-camera processes for Pluralsight Authors
With permission from the Software Domain manager, we developed standard processes to improve the viewability and retention of courses. One of those processes was developed by me, the "On-camera, at a distance" program, to allow authors to create intros, outros, and tangential sections that feature themselves delivering the content on camera. Using these simple changes to their standard courses very quickly increased the viewership of their new courses.
This was another step in developing what I am calling the "stacking" approach to consistent marketing for your brand. Modular content creation!
500+ Courses produced and published to Pluralsight
Over almost a decade's worth of work, summed up in 3 numbers. I was particularly proud of this achievement, and it means that I have learned quite a bit about what works in a course and what doesn't.

Promotion to Lead Video
Content Producer
Content Producer
In this new role, I got to participate in change management, process improvements, cross team project development, and so much more. Here, we decreased turnaround time for authors by implementing a mandatory first-module due date and check in. We effectively reduced a standard course turnaround from 120 days to 65 with this simple change, and made it possible to re-address deadlines for at risk courses earlier in the production pipeline.

Group Dynamics and Dragons
This session was special to me, because it solidified my practices for helping authors develop their content strategy when we did production meetings. The idea that we all needed to take time to play and collaboratively tell stories together to make a difference in your work environment moved me, in part, to create Critical Hit's content production plan.
"Producing High Quality Audio for Your Video Course" Module
This series of audio training videos gave a basic to intermediate level of training on common audio issues, correct microphone use, building an audio setup, basic acoustic treatment for voice over, as well as some vocal techniques.
Tiktok Experiment Launch:
Critical Kitchen
Critical Kitchen
In order to better support my authors, i set on a creative journey to discover how other content platforms and algorithms worked. I used the channel @criticalkitchen to post my own content in an attempt to discover what maked online content work.
I've done limited experimentation since then, but I plan to produce more content under the Critical Hit! banner.

"Production Sample How-to"
One of the most difficult parts of course production for many authors was.... well, the "production" part. A systemic issue that is missed before recording starts could ruin the timeline for publication. I wrote, produced, developed, filmed, and edited a simple guide on how to create a production sample, or a short example of your audio/video quality, and introduced the process. It was well received and became a standard visit for new authors.

Pluralsight Author Summit Session,
"Balancing Speed and Quality in Course Production"
"Balancing Speed and Quality in Course Production"
This session was hosted by myself and a fellow Production Editor Lead. We took years of experience helping authors through the daunting task of producing a high quality course, fast, and tried to boil it down to some simple tips and tricks.
Not to toot my own horn, but out of a packed session list of 50+, we were ranked 3rd most popular session. And it developed into our early onboarding sessions that became a standard for new authors.

"Join us each week as we talk about what it takes to work in today's creative industries. You'll get insights into today's working creative professional and advice from the people working on today's hottest movies, games and creative projects."
A short lived project, but one of my favorites. I even got to be a guest on it!

Moved Digital Tutors Library to Pluralsight
A small team of Legacy video editors were tasked with managing and processing over 2000+ courses to the new AWS Content Management System at Pluralsight. We QA Checked against our new companies brand standards, replaced DT brand imagery where automated processes and quality checks failed.

Meet Your Coworkers: Oklahoma City
This was my second big project, as part of the Office visitation tour that the admin team initiated that year. I directed, shot, and developed new processes for future interviews on-site. We were slated for 15 or so of these, and unfortunately the project was not completed. I have a few remaining ones that I will post to my youtube in the future. I also did the final mastering for audio. It's... gotten better since then.

Digital-Tutors Siggraph "Daydreamer" Pipeline Trailer
This was my first big project for DT, and the 5.1 mixing process for it was slated to be part of the overall course path. Every sound in the final trailer was created, edited, mastered, and produced in 5.1 surround. Listen for the fly in the garage. That's artificial.
